Well Clinton was in the Netherlands to discuss globilazation and global warming.
Now he talked so green that I thought he would turn into kermit the frog.
This is what the man said in his speech, I had to translate this from Dutch into English so it’s a translation:
The industry has to come up with plans to solve the global warming problem. The floods, bad harvests and other disasters are the consequence of global warming and can only be solved if all citizens feel they are worldcitizens. It’s a matter of identity. We have to feel part of humanity instead of a country. We have to realize everybody in the world will become a victem of global warming. The stystem that brings us prosperity cannot be sustained. If China an India continue to develop their economy and try to become rich the same way as we have done, than all our efforts to become a more enviromental friendly world are infain. The only positive thing about global warming is that it will mobolize the world in a positive way to fight it.
The private sector has to invest in the climate. Clinton tries to accomplish through his Clinton Climate Initiative a worldwide reduction of CO2 emissions. It is possible to earn money and think about the environment at the same time.
Well that was Clinton’s speech in a nutshell….now there were a lot of Dutch people critizising his visit thank goodness they did, not everybody was running to a bookstore to have his of her copy of Clinton’s book signed by him.
One of the hosts on a Dutch tvshow about showbiz stated: well he took 45 security people with him, I wonder how many wore a blue dress, and hey he was in our country for a very short visit. Well we all know that Clinton loves quickies so he must have loved it.Now that made me giggle and I loved that.
Now in my opinion the biggest reason why Clinton is acting like a greeny is cause he must have thought…hey Al Gore is able to earn loads of money, let’s do the same thing as Al does. Clinton is talking green cause it’s convenient for him, not because he believes what he is saying. Well that’s just my opinion, And let’s not forget how did Clinton end up in The Netherlands? Yes stepped with his 45 security people on a big polluting plane and flew here for a one day visit. I bet he said: yes but we plant trees! He does use all the polluting vehicles and things himself, if you are green…get on a bicycle and use a satelite connection to speech in another country.
Behaving like kermit the frog will make you end up in a swamp where you belong.
And by the way…..give 3 of those 45 security people to Ayaan Hirsi Ali, cause she really needs some protection…
