Now Hillary Clinton uses the song when the lady smiles of the Dutch popgroup the Golden Earring. The only thing is that the clip that goes with the song was banned in America. And that the lady they sing about is a nun that gets almost raped by a lunatic man (played by the singer of the band). Also at the end of the video they take some bit out of his brain and feed it to a dog.
On Dutch tv the band yesterday was interviewed, cause they were not asked permission at all by the Clinton team if they could use the song. The band accidently heard that Hillary used it in her campaing. Also the tv host wondered….what would foxnews do if they found out how controversal the videoclip actually is especially in America.
I think they have a point, anybody who wanted to could really use it to at least taunt Clinton but they probably don’t know the videoclip. The song was a huge hit in the Netherlands but because the videoclip was banned in America sadly this song wasn’t such a big hit in the States.
