Now if you listened to the first show you heard Dwight talk about the problems with gas and oil and the fact that America was too dependant on other countries for it’s oil and gas while they could dig it up themselves in our own country but they don’t because the greenies are stopping the companies from doing so.
Let me explain to you the situation in the Netherlands cause it’s problaby going to be America’s future…..we are in deep trouble. The Netherlands has partially it’s own gas supply, we drill for gas and we have a substantial supply of gas around but we do not have our own oil. We don’t have that stuff in the ground here people so we have to buy it all and this causes problems for us..
Now like I said we don’t have to buy ALL our gas, trust me I know we drill for it, in the early ninetess we had a few small earthquakes that were caused because we drilled for gas, I still have the cracks in my walls to prove it BUT most of europe relies on part of their gas from…..now, I let you guess first…..who do we rely on for our gas….I talked about it before in one of my podcast….yes RUSSIA……and the gaspipes go through other eastern european countries to get through western europe.
When Russia has a fight with the other eastern european countries our gas supply get’s endangered…..wonderful isn’t it to have to have other countries be so in control of wheter you get something like that or not. Russia could always use it as a means of pressuring European countries into making decissions they probably wouldn’t take themselves. Imagine Russia telling you, now if you don’t back me up with this I stop your gas supply. Problems with that could also happen to America……we already had a taste of it in Europe.
White Russia and Russia had a fight about gas prices. Russia wanted to increase the price of the gas in White Russia from 46 to 100 dollars but White Russia said, (of course they are right) no, no we aren’t going to pay that…if you don’t lower the price we won’t transport the gas through our country to other western european countries anymore. Germany got themselves into trouble because White Russia gave them less gas than usual for a while. They depended on the Russian gas that was transported through White Russia. In the end the Russians lowered the new prices for White Russia because and the crises was resolved.
BUT what will happen if the countries that you buy oil from suddenly say, we won’t supply you with oil anymore…..isn’t it nice if America than can just say go to hell…..we use our own? Now let me give you a look into the future of America by just letting you know what is going on in the Netherlands
We pay for our gas a huge amount per litre. Now we pay more than other european countries because on top of that fuel is very high taxed…why is it high taxed?…..eh something to do with global warming perhaps…..just guessing…right. Dammit of course it’s the excuse of man made global warming they use but they just want to fill their pockets.
But I digress here are the facts:
The price of one litre of regular gas to drive your car around:
1 liter will cost you 1,53 euro’s
now 1 gallon is 3,7 liters……do the math!
You would pay roughly 6 euro’s for 1 gallon of gas in the Netherlands
That is about 9 dollars for 1 gallon…..anybody in America fainted yet?
This is our everyday life…..now of course you can drive on cheaper fuel in the Netherlands, I just gave you the regular gas price. You have options, if you drive a lot you can let your car drive on Diesel. for Diesel you pay 1.26 for 1 litre and if you have LPG in your tank you pay 0.64 for 1 litre.
BUT those cars who use that cheaper fuel are taxed higher because they pollute more so in the end….the benifit of driving on not regular gas is almost gone. People have to sell SUV’s who drive on Diesel because they can’t pay the severe increased taxes on the SUV’s anymore and they have to buy an expensive dust filters for their cars those have to be installed against polluting the air…..in many families people have to sell SUV’s because of those high maintenance costs and taxes.
Now my energy supplier just informed us that our bills are going to be raised from July 1st with an average of 10 euro’s a month because of the high oil prices. The gas that we use to cook on and that we use to heath our houses, well those prices will go up now too you see because of the high oilprices. This is because the gas prices are connected to the oil prices…now if my bill would go up 10 euro’s a month….that would be a 25% increase of what I have to pay monthly…..and of course the monthly income that I receive won’t go up. America has more options to get their oil we don’t.
Now of course I’m for clean air, clean enviroment and all of that, and of course we have to do everything we can to find alternative ways to get energy because we have a limited amount of oil and gas in the ground and some day it will be gone and we would be forced to use something else. I guess we should do the best we can to find alternative ways to generate energy, I understand that. But personally I think to avoid crises for now we shouldn’t lean back and be so dependant on other countries for our energy supply. Cause you are in for a lot of trouble if you are.
